DAY 1 — PORTO / GUIMARÃES / BRAGA / PORTO
Your private guide will meet you at your hotel in Porto in the morning.
Begin your journey in Guimarães, known as the birthplace of Portugal, where King Afonso Henriques was born and which served as the country's first capital. Explore the area around the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza, Guimarães Castle, and the Chapel of São Miguel, followed by a leisurely walk through the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to Braga, the capital of the Minho region and one of Portugal's oldest centers of Christian faith. Discover the historic center, with highlights including Braga Cathedral, Santa Bárbara Gardens, and Bom Jesus do Monte, famous for its magnificent monumental staircase.
At the end of the day, return to Porto and enjoy the convenience of a private drop-off at your hotel.
Your itinerary can be adjusted to allow more time in Guimarães or Braga, or to include additional stops, subject to timing and availability.
DAY 2 — PORTO / AVEIRO / BAIRRADA / COIMBRA / PORTO
After private pickup at your hotel, travel to Aveiro, one of Portugal's most charming coastal cities, known for its picturesque canals, colorful moliceiro boats, and traditional ovos-moles sweets. Enjoy a traditional moliceiro boat cruise through Aveiro's canals.
Continue through the Bairrada region, near Mealhada, home to some of Portugal's finest vineyards, before arriving in Coimbra — a riverside city and Portugal's former capital, home to one of Europe's oldest universities.
Visit the University of Coimbra, including the breathtaking Joanina Library, St. Michael's Chapel, and the Royal Palace, then continue on foot to the Old Cathedral, Almedina Gate, Santa Cruz Church, and the Municipal Market. Enjoy some free time before your private guide drives you back to Porto and drops you off at your hotel.
The day can be adapted according to your interests, including additional time in Aveiro or Coimbra, alternative stops, or other experiences.
DAY 3 — PORTO
Today is dedicated entirely to Porto, Portugal's atmospheric northern capital, beautifully situated along the Douro River.
Discover some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including Liberdade Square, Castelo do Queijo, and São Francisco Church, renowned for its extraordinary gilded woodwork and historic catacombs. Continue through the traditionalRibeira district, one of the most atmospheric areas of the city, where narrow streets, colorful buildings, cafés, and the Douro come together.
Enjoy a private river cruise to the mouth of the Douro, followed by a visit and tasting at one of Porto's historic Port wine cellars. Spend the rest of the afternoon at your own pace, with free time to explore Porto's shops, cafés, restaurants, and local atmosphere.
Your private guide will return you to your hotel at the agreed time. End of services.
Your Porto experience can also be customized with additional sightseeing, food and wine experiences, a Douro River cruise upgrade, or other activities upon request.
