DOURO REGION TOUR

YOUR PRIVATE, TAILOR-MADE ITINERARY!

Daily Departure

One-Day Tour

Departure from your hotel (or a meeting point in the Porto/Gaia area) at 8:30 AM. We enter the Douro region via Mesão Frio—the "Gateway to the Douro"—where the first *Marco Pombalino* (demarcation stone) was placed in 1758, marking the birth of the world's oldest demarcated wine region. We then travel along EN108, a scenic road running along the river's north bank, offering magnificent views of the vineyards, until we reach Régua.

Upon arrival at a selected *quinta* (wine estate), we take a tour that transports us through the history of Port wine. The tasting includes three Port wines from this estate, which is famous and globally renowned for its production.

Next, we head to the town of Pinhão for a brief visit to one of the Douro’s most beautiful railway stations. Built in the 19th century, it is famous for its *azulejos* (ceramic tiles) depicting the Port wine production process—from the grape harvest and treading to the transport of the wine downstream on *rabelo* boats to the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.

From Pinhão, we board a traditional *rabelo* boat for a cruise on the Douro waters, enjoying the region's stunning scenery.

To conclude the day, we ascend to the Casal de Loivos Viewpoint, which offers a panoramic view of the town of Pinhão and the Douro River. Finally, we begin the journey to Porto.
